After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the International Islamic University, Malaysia in 1995, Mohamed Ali gained experience as a Financial Analyst/Consultant with various companies in the Maldives. He also completed a postgraduate Diploma in Advance Financial Management from Madras, India, and obtained the Certified Accounting Technicians (CAT) qualification from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) in the UK in the year 2000.

Mohamed Ali began his career as a Commerce Teacher at Aminiyya School in 1995 before transitioning to lecturing at the Faculty of Management and Computing. He played an instrumental role in introducing world-renowned financial management courses like CIMA-UK and AAT-UK into the Maldives at this Faculty. In the same year, he also founded Insight Consultancy Services, now known as ICS Maldives Private Limited, which was his first entrepreneurial venture.

Over the past 28 years, Mohamed Ali has successfully built an investment and management company, FALIM Group Private Limited, which manages ICS Maldives Private Limited, MAPS Maldives Private Limited, Moodhu Holidays Maldives Private Limited, and Haza Construction Private Limited.

Ahmed Ali is a highly qualified professional with an MSc in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), a BSc in Information Science, and a Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies from the UK. He has also received various other trainings, making him specialized in areas such as information science, information technology, system analysis and design, computer networking, programming geographical information systems, and business development and management.

Ahmed Ali has extensive knowledge and experience in the environmental sector, having served in the Government from 1992 to 2002. During this time, he managed numerous projects, conducted research, and published several papers, indirectly contributing to the preservation and protection of the fragile environment of the Maldives. He has also worked as a consultant in the fields of business management, education, and tourism.

As the Managing Director of FALIM Group and its four associated companies, Ahmed Ali has gained invaluable experience in business management, education, tourism, consultancy, and real estate management. He is also currently serving as the Rector of MAPS College, one of the oldest private colleges in the Maldives, further demonstrating his commitment to education and his expertise in this field.
