Prominent among the contributions made to the society was the development and operation of the maldivesbloodline.com, a website dedicated to Thalassaemia patients in the Maldives, with the aim to create awareness about Thalassaemia and to connect parents of Thalassaemic children with blood donors when they were most needed. Several hundred volunteers registered to donate blood which helped many parents to find blood donors with ease. The website was well received with overwhelming praise and compliments from thalassaemic patients and their relatives over the years. The website was discontinued when this service became available via mobile network operators. FALIM would like to believe that the initiative taken by FALIM paved the way for the service to be made available to the general public as a value added service on the mobile networks.
