MAPS College is an establishment of MAPS Maldives Private Limited, which is owned by FALIM Group Private Limited.

Founded in 1999, MAPS College’s predecessor – the MAPS Institute – was a pioneering private educational institution in the Maldives. From relatively humble beginnings, the Institute grew in stature and popularity among the youth, particularly those aspiring to embark on a career in accounting, finance and management. The flexibility of the courses on offer, coupled with the option to attain renowned overseas qualifications at affordable prices resulted in the steady increase in student enrollment. New courses in various fields of study such as travel, tourism and hospitality, public relations, and information technology accelerated the drive towards collegiate application. The partnerships with ABE and ACCA (in offering the popular CAT qualification courses) were also landmarks in the development of the Institution.

MAPS was awarded college status on the 12th of January 2011, and since then it has established further partnerships with internationally renowned academic institutions such as Edexcel from UK, Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH) from UK, Binary University from Malaysia and the Australian Institute of Business (AIB) from Australia to offer world class education at affordable prices here at Maldives. As of January 2014, MAPS College offers courses from certificate to degree level in a variety of study areas including business, accounting, IT and travel and tourism. MAPS College has also become the first College in Maldives to offer world class MBA programme from AIB in Maldives delivered in just 12 months.

As the student enrolment numbers increases steadily, MAPS College is continuously looking at ways to improve and expand the services offered to it students.
